Just back from a lovely vacation in Long Island, New York. The beaches in this area are some of the most gorgeous I have ever seen and it was a pleasure to watch my kids ride the waves on their boogie boards and soak up the sun. Except Jamie, of course, who I had to watch like a hawk because the undertoe is so strong and he is so tiny. Unfortunately, I only had the pleasure of enjoying the beach on 2 of our 7 days of vacation because the other days, it was a torrential downpour. There was so much rain that it was almost funny. There was even a cover article in the New York Times that week about the “Deluge in the Mid-Atlantic States.” I kid you not. So, we played a lot of board games and did a lot of shopping.
All that being said, it really was a good vacation. It was nice to leave my momAgenda in my purse and not take it out once. No appointments, no play dates, no classes, nothing structured at all about our days… just family time. That was the best part.
