Everyone who knows me well, knows that I feel I am a better mom because I work. The balance between work life and home life helps keep me sane. But let me tell you something: today, in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, it is approximately 85 degrees, with no humidity. Today is perfect. There is a very big part of me that wants to be an at-home mom today… at the beach with my kids!
To be honest, my work ethic is not that great. I would totally go to the beach if I could. The problem is that I get no cellphone or blackberry reception there, so the office would not be able to get in touch with me if they needed to. Maybe I just need to switch calling plans???
It was just my luck to go into a business in which the busy season starts in May and just gets busier through the summer. In the heat of August, when every other business is slow and most staffers are taking vacation, we are working long hours and stressing about inventory and deadlines.
Speaking of which, wait till you see the new Portfolios in Pink, Blue and Green. They look fantastic and they will be up on the site in a couple of weeks. I was going to use the Mini Daily as my personal organizer this year but I am really thinking of using the Pink Portfolio instead. Guess I have to decide soon because school starts in 2 weeks. It is sad to retire my beautiful pink crocodile version but I know it is time for change:)
