New Schol Year Resolutions

These are my New (School) Year’s Resolutions for the 2006-2007 academic year…

1. I will remember to pack lunch money if one of the kids wants to buy lunch instead of bring (yes remembering lunch money is an issue for me, and yes I am ashamed of myself).

2. I will have the kids packed and ready to go by 8:00 am, not 8:15, so we can walk to school and get there on time at 8:30.

3. I will patiently review each child’s homework with them, each night, and always remember to sign the homework book.

4. I will insist on 30 minutes of reading for each child, each night. I realistically know that I can’t read with each of them each night (let’s face it I have 4 kids; I have my limits) but other than Jamie they can all read on their own.

5. We will institute “family night” one night per week where we eat together and do an activity together as a family. My husband’s attendance is mandatory! (Larry if you are reading this, which I highly doubt, please help me with this.)

6. I will write activities in my momAgenda as soon as possible before I forget them. Because I WILL forget them if I don’t write them down.

7. I will strike an approprite balance between time spent working and time spent with my family.

8. I will schedule in 4-5 workouts per week and treat them like real appointments.

9. I will cook more at home rather than eating out so that our meals are healthier.

10. I will keep it all in perspective. Work is busy and stressful these days, which is good and bad. I will not let it get me stressed at home.

Wish me luck with my new resolutions and I will give an update in a month and let you know how it’s going.
