I want to let all of you know how grateful we are to each and every one of you for being so patient. Our products have been on back order for ages, but they are all coming in over the next week. By November 1, ALL of our day planners will be in stock and ready to ship to you. Just in time for holiday gift-giving season (hint hint)!
I sincerely apologize if any of our delays have caused any inconveniences for anybody.
The good news is, everything is coming in now. The desktops are coming in in every color, and the portfolios are coming in as well in rasberry, grass, and wave.
For those of you who are still looking for the Mini, we are not producing these again until next year. The reason is that the Mini is school year only, so it ends next August. (This is unlike our other day planners, which start in August but run through the following December; with 17 months of planning, you can buy it in December and still get a full year out of it.) If you do still want the Mini, we have a few left in Black but once they’re gone, that’s it until Spring.
If you are planning to order momAgendas as holiday gifts this year, please order early to avoid disappointment later, especially if there are specific colors you are looking for.
More good news: our beautiful stationery is on sale! If you have not seen this stationery yet, it is absolutely gorgeous and I urge you to try it. The paper we use comes from Italy and it is so luxurious it makes me feel like a princess to write on it. The stationery makes a great hostess gift or stocking stuffer, so stock up now while it’s on sale.
Now onto other matters, like my personal life. Andrew, my 5th grader, is away this week. Our school does a weeklong program called “Nature’s Classroom” — they take the entire 5th grade away to basically an outdoor school. The kids are sleeping in cabins and taking special courses like astronomy and dissection. There is literally no contact between us for the entire week! This has been extremely difficult for me… I can handle Andrew going on a trip for a week, but not knowing how he’s doing or how he’s feeling, has been really hard. I suppose it will build independence in these kids which is a good thing. I just can’t wait to see him on Friday.
I read an amazing parenting book recently, it is “The Blessing of a Skinned Knee” by Wendy Mogel. I urge you all to go out and buy this book, it is fabulous. It discusses parenting in the context of the teachings of Judaism; while I happen to not be Jewish, I do feel that all the religions teach similarly when it comes to raising kids, and anyway I feel we can all learn something from all religions. Some highlights: the idea of raising your children as individuals, appreciating each one for who he/she is rather than trying to mold him/her to be what you want. Another key idea is that we should not always try to protect our children from events in life that are not pleasant, because these events help our children learn valuable lessons and build resilience. For example, say your child gets a teacher who has a difficult personality. Rather than try to get your child switched to a new teacher, this book suggests that your child will have an opportunity to learn about dealing with difficult people by staying in this class. It’s not ideal but then again it prepares your child for the real world, where situations are rarely ideal. Check it out, it’s an easy read and very worthwhile.
That’s all for now-
Nina

How can we get the full 17 mo. worth .When would we have to order?
Answer: The book starts in August, so to get the full 17 months you would start during the “bak-to-school” season.
