This is my Halloween challenge this year. I am going to get through this entire day without eating a single piece of Halloween candy. Think I can do it? I have never done it before but this year is the first time I have really challenged myself. Will let you know how it goes.
Halloween started out on a high note, at least for my kids. Even without any sugar, they were bouncing of the walls all morning. I was very happy to drop them off at school this morning and let their teachers deal with them! At 2:00 the entire school has a Halloween parade down the main street in town, then class parties in all the classrooms. So they will get all sugared up before embarking on their trick or treating tonight.
This year Andrew is apparently to cool to go trick or treating. He refused to get a costume; he found a hat at Target and says he is going as “a guy in a hat.” He is only 10 but I can already tell I am really not going to enjoy his teenage years.
Jenna is going as a “pop diva” which is really cute. The costume has a bare midriff which she voluntarily decided was distateful, so she is wearing a regular t-shirt under the top. I am so proud of my modest little girl!
Matt is going as Harry Potter. At 6 years old he still thoroughly enjoys Halloween. And Jamie is going as a Power Ranger. Not that he knows what a Power Ranger is, as he has never seen that tv show before. But the costume is really cool; it is one of those ones with the built in muscles. So cute.
Everyone have a safe and happy halloween!!!

I tried. I failed. Five kit-kats and two three musketeers later I was holding my head, wondering when my willpower snapped like wet toilet paper…
