I’ve never blogged in my life, and I only really started to read blogs because Nina started writing one, and I was interested as to whether or not she’d mention me. You see, we’re neighbors. Close neighbors as in proximity (our back yards back up to each other). As well as friends. I’ve had the distinct honor of knowing Nina since seventh grade. So, needless to say, in my ego maniacal way, I wanted to see if my name showed up in print.
But now that she’s asked me to actually put my own words and thoughts and what I’m sure will be mindless dribble on her site, I’m clinging to anonymity.
I tried to put some thought into my Username. Should it be funny? Should it be deep? Should it encompass my character? Am I giving it too much thought?
I came up with Underbelly. I’m not exactly sure why – I like the sound of it. I know it has a cynical connotation – as in dark side, under side of things…and while I know I have my own share of cynicism, I try to be a glass-half-full kind of person. Maybe for me, underbelly really does mean what’s under the belly – my gut. So, that’s how I am going to approach blogging for Nina and MomAgenda. Just writing from my gut…thanks Nina for thinking of me.
Underbelly, I hope you are going to mention my name in your blog frequently so that I too can get that ego boost of seeing my name in print:-)
