Is anyone else watching American Idol with their kids? Because I have to say, it is really a good activity… for the most part it is good clean fun and appropriate for the whole family. Wait, except for one thing. Throughout the auditions, when they show all the really horrible people who can’t sing in tune to save their lives, and Simon lambastes them all in his own inimitable way, I found myself saying to my kids, “this is so inappropriate! we do not treat other humans this way! do not view simon as a role model!” But other than that AI can be counted on for good family entertainment.
We have fun predicting who will be voted off and I crack up hearing my kids’ comments. Hearing 11-year-old Andrew discuss the demographics of Sanjaya’s fan base, or 7-year-old Matthew critique a contestants’ dance moves, never fails to provide additional entertainment value.
Everyone agreed last night that Haley had to go — her obvious ploy of using her legs to garner votes was getting really annoying — and we all know who else is leaving, although not in what order. Melinda, LaKisha, Jordin, and Blake have the top 4 locked up! I can’t decide which one I like best.
