The Personal Portfolio: What do You Think

Have you checked out our new Personal Portfolio? It is a brand new product and our first 3-ring binder ever. I am so excited about it and personally am using the Storm Grey croco version. I get compliments on it everywhere I go! If I do say so myself:)

Anyway I want to know from you how you like this product! We always try to listen to our customers and offer you what you want, whenever possible. For example, next year we will be offering paper refills for the binder. What kind of refills would you like? I know that I love taking notes on graph paper–can’t really explain why, I just love graph paper–so one of our refill options will be a pack of graph paper. Here are some ideas we are tossing around here for the refills: colored paper; extra address paper; extra “to do” paper; extra blank lined paper; pre-printed grocery lists.

What do you think? What would you like to see included in the Personal Portfolio?

  1. Let me just say that you are a genius. I love the new portfolio I bought it in Raspberry. I thought it was going to be a deeper pink than the pink spiral portfolio I got from you guys last year but it is the same color! Anyway apart from that which was my mistake. But it still was the only color that I really liked. I LOVE my new 3 ring portfolio it has everything I loved from the spiral and more. I usually tend to buy my planner in binder format I think they are easier to work with. One thing I would like to see offered is extra copies of the kid’s medical information you only put one in the binder I think each child should have it’s own filled out especially if they have different illnesses or medications different pediatricians and specialists. Definitely more to do pages, grocery lists sound nice and the colored paper idea sound good. How about the whole essentials section what if the info changes and you need to white out or erase the pages will not look good.

Thank you again for giving us such useful & family friendly products and that actually looks nice. I have read that you say your products are a fashion accessory and they are they actually feel that way.

  2. I don’t think the columns are wide enough for each day. I use this for my work and kids schedules. I also keep track of voice mail messages for work each day therefore, the columns are not wide enough. I am somewhat disappointed that I purchased the portfolio last year. Was considering the 3 ring this year but not if the space hasn’t changed. Let me know.

  3. Love the idea of the binder. I haven’t bought one yet as I’m hoping to get one for my birthday coming up. So, I don’t even know what is in it at this point. But, I do have one suggestion maybe…I buy gifts for birthdays and/or Christmas all the time. I’d love some sort of gift list so that if I see something a particular person might like, I can flip to the list and see if I already have something for them for Christmas or not. I always seem to end up with several things for one sister and none for the other!

  4. I would love to see a binder version of the “All-in-One” or the “Kitchen Folio”; that way people could still add any other forms or pertinent info for their family that is not already available. I currently do not own a Momagenda, as I cannot figure out which one is best for me…

  5. Hi again I thought of another suggestion how about a call log or contact log. It could be used professionally and in the personal life. For ex: who called what was discussed, follow-up needed. I would use this for my kids especially with my 2 special needs kids with all the calls I make to the school system and specialists and such. I never know where to write this info. I hope you understood what I am trying to describe.

What I really hope you make is a full size personal portfolio binder. With the same features as your new Personal Portfolio, same size as your All-in-One. That would be awesome.

  6. I am not a mom – but just a super busy graduate student who works. I love the layout of this agenda it helps me keep track of everything- and I’ve tried them all. I want to get your new binder but would love it to include graph paper for notes, lots of to do list, extra grocery lists (similar to your pad layout) , the call log idea is amazing!!, also post- its for times i need to leave some one a note that won’t get lost in the shuffle of paper, and small tabs on the calendar glance so i can flip to ea month faster to input dates. Just wanted to let you know that not only moms are using this binder and I can’t wait to get mine. Hopefully you’ll take these comments to heart. You have no idea how frustrating it is to find the perfect planner and this one is sooo close to being perfect for me and my friends. :) !!!!

  7. Just remembered the last two things I would love to see in the bider, in the grocery store section a clear zipper pouch so you can keep receipts/coupons you need to use on your trip. and I would love a handy calculator that was flat and slim – I’m always trying to stick to my budget :)

  8. I really wish the refills were ready right now as I would so use them in my current planner. All the planners that are currently out there that I have found are wirebound refills, and I can’t stand wire-bound or bound planners. I like to add refill pages as I need them and build my own planner. Unfortunately, there are just no notebook type planner pages that I have found that truly work for a mom so right now I am having to color code my entries for each family member so they stand out.

  9. I wish there was a toll free # to call and actually SPEAK to someone. I am REALLY disappointed that the new refill is on back order for so long. A huge inconvenience! While I love the product, I do feel like this was a poor business decision and I hope it will not happen next fall, when ALL of the other calendars come out. Do the new binders come with the updated calendar 2008-2009. Maybe you could send them to the customers that have been waiting for theirs. The year will be over soon and I feel like I will still be waiting.

Sorry to be so blunt, but this is really pretty unprofessional.

  10. I don’t have one yet, so I don’t know if these things are included, but how about a section to write in favorite web addresses with usernames and passwords? Also a place for planning dinner parties? Then I would have a record of what was served to whom and not repeat serving the same thing.

  11. For refills my vote would be for the graph paper (LOVE them too), extra address pages, extra website and password pages and pre-printed grocery lists. How about a budget planner? Would also love to have one of those clear zippered pockets for storing receipts too. Right now I have one in my portfolio but it’s a generic office supply brand–to have the cool momAgenda name on it would be better. Thanks for offering such great products! I honestly have not found anything else out there that compares to yours.

  12. ditto to the “small tabs on the months of the calendar glance so i can flip to each month faster”

    SUNDAY start, **NOT** monday!!

I love love love your new 3 ring binder style and the only hold up is

that your calendars start on Monday. I’ve tried that style in the

past and it just TOTALLY messes me up and that’s the last thing I

need! Is there a ‘sunday start’ insert option PLEASE?!

    thanks!

Mom of 4 kids, 1 large dog, OB-GYN husband at the beck-n-call of the

stork, working Labor&Delivery nurse night shifts, volunteer at the

elementary school and co-op preschool….. please don’t mess me up more!

  13. After careful consideration I decided to go with the regular desktop instead of the new Personal Organizer. I would suggest sturdy clear plastic protectors for business cards, regular size for schedules etc., and as one mom said a zipper pouch. I am currently a busy “stay at home” mom. (Sounds funny because I always seem to be chauffering our three children) I still get business cards from doctors, hair salon, personal and you name it. I carry my MomAgenda desktop with me everywhere and I have papers, cards and pictures of family falling out. The clips are a great idea, but certain things I want protected. I would invest ( to me,in this economy, 145.00 is an investment) in the new Personal organizer, with just these few adjustments and possibly some new colors such as classic black, brown, the deep sapphire or a funky bright color. Thank you for your interest in our suggestions as consumers.

  14. I like the grocery list idea if you make it a bit smaller than the Calendar page and have the holes still punched I can place it in the middle of my week to help with planning. Having a the ability to rip off the grocery list from the planning part would be a bonus.

The Beautiful Colors of the paper is what I find so appealing to all your products it sets it apart from anything else out there.

  15. I agree with most of these posts. the ones I am most passionate about are start with SUNDAY not monday!! Also tabs for the months!!

  16. I like the size of the new binder, but I wish the insert pages were larger. It seems like these pages are slightly smaller than the pages in the “refill” calendars.

    Thanks!

  17. I want to order a personal organizer so badly, but am waiting to see if you will have some classic colors, maybe black, black patent, or chocolate brown. I like the monthly tab ideas as well. I love momagenda it’s format has been the only one to truly keep me organized!

  18. My only reservation is color choice. I’ll miss my Azure desktop. The Marine doesn’t hit the mark for me. I like the colors of the portfolios, but I need the desktop. Bring Azure back, please (or something close).

  19. I just received my raspberry portfolio and while I love the color and the size of the portfolio, I’m a little disappointed with the inside contents. I haven’t written in it yet because I’m trying to decide whether to send it back (before my 15 days of original purchase is up) and instead purchase the momAgenda Desktop Planner along with the new clips or just keep it and hope the refills are updated with the suggestions offered. Thank you for considering the suggestions of your loyal consumers. I appreciate it!

Here are my suggestions and/or things I’d love to see available as refills:

    1. First and foremost, I’d love for the daily writing spaces to be larger…they’re a bit smaller than the desk planner pages (what I’m used to) and it’s killing me.

    2. I’d love to see weekly grocery shopping lists.

    3. I’d really like the web sites page to be set up like the web sites page in the desk planner and include 1-2 more of them.

    4. I’d love to see a zipper pouch so that I can carry my checkbook around and have easy access to it.

    5. Monthly tabs would be nice.

    6. I’d love to be able to purchase an extra ruler or two to keep one in the weekly section and one in another section I reference frequently.

  20. I ordered the personal portfolio at the beginning of the school year because my kids are getting old enough to each have a schedule and the single box per day planner I was using was becoming difficult to read. I love the layout of Mom Agenda planners, but was disappointed with the size of the daily writing space of the Personal Portfolio. Single words per line is about all you can fit. For me more writing space is the biggest suggestion. I’m actually thinking about purchasing the Desktop version (because I’m understanding it has more writing space), which kills me since I’ve already shelled out the cash for the portfolio. A grocery list would be nice as would a zipper pouch, but I just need more space to write!!

Oh, and I’m an archiver. My planners are almost like journals to me. I save them and can tell you what was going on in my life years ago (since writing in my journal has become less frequent with each child). I’m used to a bound planner, which makes saving it easy. But for the binder type, you might consider creating an archiving sleeve/box or something.

p.s. I like the Monday-Sunday format. That’s just me though.

  21. I’ve been searching all over for a 8 1/2 x 11 binder type organizer that is flexible and fun. The personal portfolio looks like what I was looking for, but it shows as no longer available. What’s the scoop?

  22. I love my Mom Agenda! I would LOVE to see a zippered personal portfolio instead of a tab closure so that any papers inside are not compromised by accidentally falling out.
