Gift Giving Series: Part 2, Gifts for Daughter

November 14, 2008 8:00 AM

This one might be my favorite! Maybe it is because my daughter is 10 years old, and loves just about everything. When I look at the disaster area that is her bedroom, I am hesitant to bring anything new into the mix. But let's face it, it is the holidays, and I just want to give her something special from me.
There are many reasonably priced products right here on the momAgenda web site that your daughter will love. A myAgenda is a very popular gift for daughters; customer feedback tells us that girls love it, even in the elementary school years. Best of all, it is never too early to start using a day planner... you can use it to start teaching her about life organization, even at a relatively early age! Check it out here:

Switching gears completely, one of my goals for this holiday season is to not just give gifts per se, but to give experiences that will create lasting memories. What our daughters want more than any gift is time with us, at least that's what Dr. Phil tells me. So I might give my daughter a girls' day for just the two of us, filled with fun activities like shopping, mani/pedi's, and a lunch or dinner out at her favorite restaurant. Another experience that would make a great gift would be a night out for the two of us in a nearby city. What you do there depends on your city, but since we live near New York it's easy: ice skating at Rockefeller Center, lunch at a kid-friendly restaurant, and then tickets to a Broadway show. What a great gift!
