Hearing about Oprah Winfrey's conundrum yesterday (did you hear, she is back up to 200 lbs, and is very upset and embarrassed about it) got me really thinking. Oprah said the reason she gained weight was that she stopped taking care of herself. Obviously, we have all been there. As mothers we rarely remember to take care of ourselves. I personally have struggled to schedule time into my day planner just to get in a few workouts a week!
As moms, it is our biological instinct to put our kids first, and I think that most of the time that is a good thing. But when it comes to your health, putting your kids first means taking good care of yourself so you can be there for them.
This season especially, we are thinking of our loved ones, whether it is because we are buying gifts, hosting parties, or just writing out holiday cards. I am just asking you all, in the midst of the holiday chaos, please do not let "You" fall off the list of important things to take care of! Take some time each day, even if it's only a few minutes: a bath, a cup of tea, a chapter of a good book... you get the idea. Take time to recharge and refresh yourself this holiday season. And remember all the priorities you have in your life, whether it is getting some exercise or creating nutritious meals, and try not to let them fall by the wayside too much.
Please join me in taking care of yourself, not just your loved ones, this holiday season!

Nina,
I don't know if you saw it or not, but the January 2009 issue of Country Living magazine mentions momAgenda on page 6....Keep up the great work. I know I can't function without my planner!

Dear Nina: Hi I used your planner in 2007 and then something different in 2008 but decided to go back to you in 2009 so have my planner already to go!!! Suggestion! It would be awesome if on the month at a glance page you could just list maybe only 3 months in the left margin and then underneat that Notes: With blank lines the rest of the way down the page! I used this in my 2008 planner and it was great because if I had something to do that month or day I'd write it in pencil and then mark it off as I did it. Way easier for a month at a glance. Hope you'll consider. Thank you so much!
