Just as I was getting all excited about expanding into the digital world with momAgenda, and having a great conversation with you all about our new iPhone/Blackberry apps and all the cool features we would be putting in, I get an email from my old friend Sarah Welch, a cofounder of the amazing company Buttoned Up. Sarah, who had gone digital with her calendar, apparently lost everything in her calendar in one unfortunate and fluke-ish moment. And to make matters worse, the back-up system she had in place was mysteriously overridden by her blank calendar. To quote her, "God help me - why did I ever switch from paper?!" You can read her complete blog post about the entire unfortunate incident here.
In the future, Sarah has decided to maintain BOTH a paper calendar and a digital calendar. This is interesting, because in a recent survey we conducted, 90% of you said that if you were to use a digital momAgenda app, you would use it in addition to, rather than instead of, your paper planner. I personally can't imagine life without a paper calendar; I love the feel of it, love seeing my whole week at a time, love writing things down and checking things off, and love the sheer beauty of planners. What can I say, I am a bit of a paper geek. Digital calendars hold no allure for me and I doubt I will ever switch over.
What do you think? Are you planning to stick with paper for your calendar? Will you switch to just a digital calendar if/when the right product comes out? Or will you do both?

STAYING WITH PAPER!! I will NEVER leave my paper MomAgenda!! I love it too. Love seeing things on paper too that I can see and check, who is going where and when. We still have 4 boys living at home, all into sports so with their schedules, mine and my hubby's, it can get CrAzY!!! :O) So I LOVE my MomAgenda and will NOT go digital!! :O)

I already use both. I don't ways have my paper one with me so having a handy reference on my phone is good. I keep some info in my paper one that I don't in my electronic one.

I use both and have always used both. The fact of the matter is that sometimes you need to jot down quick notes or something. Paper allows you to do that. Other times you're out and you have a small handbag, so the digital helps in that way since it's on your phone. The best of both worlds.

I love the idea of paper planners. I love the look and feel of them. I buy a lot of them! LOL! ...but I actually follow through on using very few of them very much. (You would be shocked to see all the unused Mom Agenda products I own! *sigh*) ... Now electronics...I use those all the time. I would rather give you my wallet than my iphone. I love how it beeps at me and tells me when I have something I need to remember that I *know* I would forget otherwise. What I DON'T love is having to type all that info in with my fingers! What I would LOVE is a good iphone app with a computer program component that I could use to input all that info, sync it to my iphone, and print up a backup copy, if needed. This, imho, would be the best of both worlds! You can somewhat do this with existing programs, but I would love to have a "pretty" and well thought out one to use!

I would consider adding an electronic version, but I have no interest in getting rid of the paper one. Heck, I still write with a fountain pen.

I don't know if I'll ever make the switch to digital-- some things just work better on paper! I'm dependent on my blackberry for many things-- but in general, I use my phone more for wasting time than for managing it! :-)

I use both - mostly paper. I also like the feel of paper & writing on it. I have my bb and love it - use it for emails, calls, texting, alarm, but haven't found a good 'mobile' calendar yet. Online I use my google calendar (love that, too!). And I leave backing up my computer to hubby...

I once was addicted to my I-Phone calendar. I, like your friend, lost all of my data that included doctors appointments and schedules for two children. This is when I purchased my momAgenda. I Love It! I will never switch.

I use both but usually paper. Since my MomAgenda has room for all of my kids plus I put my husband's travel schedule under one of the kids.

I love my spiral bound momAgenda too much. I need to look at my week in one gulp. Looking at my day or week on a little screen would not compare.
