A Big Thank You… and a Peace Offering

To all of you I want to give a very big thank you for your support and encouragement after my controversial “Wall of Shame” post. I don’t usually go on rants like that, and you will be happy to know I have calmed down (a few glasses of wine helped).

I also want everyone to know that despite my anger and frustration, we at momAgenda are still banging down the doors of everyone on our wall of shame list. So, to our colleagues at Mead, Target, Franklin Covey, and Filofax: please return our phone calls! We would love to work with you to develop a product line that would be not just helpful to moms, but also attractive and stylish.

And best of all, if we work together, I will stop calling you guys copycats on Facebook on Twitter.

  1. hmmm, very interesting turnaround. I love your product and have bought it for two years on a row but I was disgusted at your post. I have to say that you are NOT the only one with great ideas and you should give others credit for their work, even if it is a similar product. I have to ask – are all your products 100% original? the answer would be NO. I don’t see the likes of Oprah, Coke, Nestle or any other major organizations with great ideas carrying on this way. Take PC and Apple – you don’t see walls of shame on their websites. Yet they copy each others ideas all the time. Consumers will buy a product that fits in with their needs. When they all created a successful product it did not take long for others to copy the formula of sucess. This is also not about big companies taking advantage of small companies this is about business. Small companies always copy the ideas of big companies but no one ever makes a big song and dance about that until they become sucessful and we support them for their sucess. Sir Richard Branson took existing products and services and created a new concept – would you put him on your wall of shame if he ever dared to do something similar to you? I liked to finish by again reiterating that I found your wall of shame distasteful and disgraceful and an example of how business should NOT behave.

  2. Wow–really? Disgusted? I’m surprised to get such a strong reaction. I have to respectfully disagree with you; my intellectual property is something I will protect aggressively, as would any of the companies you mention above. The difference is, those companies have fully staffed legal departments, with sizable budgets, to do that work for them. I, on the other hand, have only an IP lawyer and this blog.

  3. I have bought momAgenda for 3 years but after I read your wall of shame post, I vowed never to buy your product again. I find your arrogance distasteful. I suppose you think you invented the calendar system as well.
