The 2010-2011 momAgenda day planners start today, which makes today the first day of the new year for us! Seriously, though, we all know that the start of the new school year is when the new year really starts for us as moms. I know that for me, I feel a definite sense of “out with the old, in with the new” right around August/September each year. And it’s not just about organizing and starting my new day planner (although I do really love that part). It’s also that the kids are in a new grade level with new teachers…. new friends coming to our house to play…. new after-school activities…. which means a new schedule and a new routine for all of us. Not to mention 2 of my kids are starting new schools this year so it really will be a fresh start.
All of this talk about our new year has gotten me thinking about organizing for the new school year. Here’s the to-do list I made yesterday:
- Shopping for school clothes for the kids
- Go through all the school paperwork, fill out forms
- Fill in important school dates on 2010-2011 calendar
Your question for today: what’s on your to-do list for back to school?

I’ve moved the dates over to my new momAgenda, need to get new sneakers for the kids, purchase a short list of school supplies, and get back into the ‘school night’ bedtime routine. Can’t believe summer is almost over!
School Supply Shopping – done
Inventory Fall Clothes and make shopping list – done
Purchase new school shoes – done
Fill out school paperwowrk -
Enter school dates into MomAgenda -
Schedule back to school haircuts -
Begin Back to School bedtime/wakeup routine -
Oooh, your list is WAY more thorough than mine… thanks for reminding me of more things I need to do in August!
When is the home office one going to be able to be ordered? ditto for the refill for my portolio…would hate to have to transfer to a different system….
Already in my shiny new planner: pede checkups, pediatric dentist for cleanings, pediatric opthamologist to check glasses prescriptions, band camp practices, parent mtgs for band camp, ACT test and first day of school. To celebrate New Agenda Day, I’m scheduling one last weekend getaway for the family.
