Happy Wednesday everyone! It is once again time for Win-It Wednesday.
This week I am thinking about vacation. So many of us are gearing up for some sort of getaway during August, whether to the beach or to a more exotic locale. Packing for family vacation takes almost as long as the vacation itself, even if you use our handy packing lists:-) . I will never forget the ski trip we took when Jamie, our youngest, was about 2. We forgot to pack his "blankie" and I am not exaggerating when I say he barely slept for the entire week. It made for a vacation that, quite frankly, I would be happy to forget.
There are certain items that are absolute musts for me: my laptop (of course) and blackberry (ditto) so I can continue being President of momAgenda even on vacation. And I won't even leave my house for a trip to the grocery store, much less a vacation, without lip balm (I am addicted). There are many more but I won't bore you with my long list.
So here's your Win-It Wednesday question: What are your top vacation must-pack items?
Enter to win by commenting on the blog, on our Facebook fan page ("Like" us first), or on Twitter (use hashtag #momAgenda). Winner will be chosen at random Friday morning. Winner receives a Desktop momAgenda in winner's color choice.

My vacations include 4yo daughter, so "books" and "iPod" are always on my list! Plus "phone chargers (wall and car)" because my phone always seems to die on vacations! For my husband "a book" is always a priority.

Laptop, Blackberry, my son's stuffed puppy - oddly enough named Puppy :)
Oh, did I mention my family....them too :)

Antibacterial wet wipes!! Even though my kids are out of diapers, we use these religiously on every vacation. (Wipe down tv remotes in hotels, clean up messes in the car ride down, and a million more)

I think the laptop & cellphones packed goes without saying. But for me...conditioner (I have curly hair)..as a matter of fact; ALL my hair care products, contact solution 4 my son (who forgets 2 pack it himself & he's 17) and Izzy Bear for my daughter. My worst fear though is losing Izzy Bear so when we leave the hotel every family member makes sure she is in the bag.

Laptop, ipod, blankies for my girls and my camera!

We only take car trips--even for long distances so our list is probably different than many families. Beyond the obvious though we pack: Wipes (although no kids in diapers any more); always take an extra towel (or 3) in case of motion sickness or other emergencies--it is truly amazing how useful a towel can be; Cheap, refillable water bottles--so it they get lost it is okay and they won't spill so easily in the car; healthier snacks so we don't have to stop and eat not-so-healthy foods.

There are 18 years between my first child and my last child with 7 more kids between them. It's amazing to see the difference between vacations then and now! Now we make sure we bring the afore mentioned laptops and cell phones. But one thing has never changed - we never travel 5 minutes down the road without music. The mode in which it's played has certainly changed but that's about all.

My family - we can pick up most everything else along the way if we need it.

2 books, 4 magazines, lip balm, hairbrush, comfy PJs. Anything else that I left behind can be purchased. With kiddo #1 arriving in December, I'm sure that list will change.

Any where we go, we always pack a night light. It's very handy.

I have one with a weak stomach, so a "puke bag" and plenty of wipes are always a priority!

I can't leave home without my IPod, camera, sunscreen, a huge water bottle, granola bars, and a good book!

My ipod, a good book, and my momagenda...I love taking the time to go through my dates and make sure I am set for the new school year...The only time I truly have the time to do it is during vacation!

I have to have my iphone and laptop, or I just can't relax - sad, huh?

Flip flops are a must on any vacay!
Posted by: erica - July 28, 2010 8:26 PM
My Family of course, my momagenda, for my kids their PSP's and hand wipes they come in very handy when you are eating in the car. Cell phones and my makeup can't go any where without that. MONEY!!!!
Last but not movies and sunscreen

it doesn't really matter what is in the suitcase...you can pick up almost anything where you get if you forget something, but we always pack a change of clothes, lots of diapers, snacks, special friend and books for any plane flight...just in case we get stuck in an airport overnight again!!! Not fun with a 1 year old and 3 year old

iPhone, healthy munchies, daughters baby doll (Darby), sunglasses, and plenty of clean underwear for all!!
Posted by: april - July 29, 2010 12:17 AM
We always pack a small fan with our daughter's pack and play, the white noise helps her fall (and stay) asleep!
Posted by: Christa - July 29, 2010 9:16 AM
We have 3 boys ages 10 1/2 and under, so our must haves are our water bottles, a cooler with healthy snacks in it so we don't have to stop at yucky fast-food restaurants, sketch pads, books on CD, and the chargers for their Nintendo DS's. Hubby wires a power strip into the electric outlet in the van so that they can stay charged the whole trip!

I have kept the same packing list for the past 6 years. Some of the items have been eliminated (potty seat), or upgraded (diapers - underwear). But we never leave for our beach vacation without lots of books for everyone, family fun games, and kites. I personally have my own activity bag, full of the latest books I want to read, my camera, perhaps a few scrap book projects, and definately a x-stitch project or 2. I love to take an hour or 2 to myself when the house has settled down.

I don't go anywhere without lotion, lip gloss, my cell phone (I have a deployed husband), and my wallet. For trips, a book is a MUST, and something comfy for the trip. AND, you can't forget a camera!

Cell phone and camera! You never know what you'll see.
Posted by: Sarah - July 29, 2010 3:52 PM
i-phone and momagenda--gotta be organized even on vacation! But snacks are the best to keep the kids occupied and their bellys full!
