After a busy weekend with my four kids Monday mornings usually find me in need of a pick-me-up of some sort. A few days at a spa would be ideal, but unfortunately that is not in the cards, at least not this week. Here are a few of my favorite ways to feel like “me” again after the weekend has taken just about everything out of me….
- Clean up and glam it up. It may seem obvious, but I always feel better after cleaning up, blowing out my hair, putting on makeup and putting on something that looks cute and put together.
- Turning up the tunes. I don’t know what it is about music but it really does have the power to transform my mood. I have tons of different mixes and Monday mornings I turn the volume way up so that I can really feel it.
- Work it out. Going for a run is a foolproof way to boost your mood. It is one of the two reasons I run nearly every day (the other reason being, it is the only way I know of to be able to eat what I want and still fit into my jeans).
- Call a friend. Every mom needs a few women she can call any time for a pep talk or just a chat. I don’t know about you but I always feel more like “me” and less like “mom” after a chat with one of my girls.
