This year, our 4 children are attending 4 different schools. 2 of them are in public schools, and 2 of them are in private schools. It’s working out great for the kids–everybody is in the right place for them, and everybody’s happy. Phew! But the problems start when we want to go on vacation as a family. We love to travel together but everyone has a different vacation schedule now. As a result, we have only 2 opportunities to travel together: Christmas break, which fortunately is basically the same for all 4 kids, and summer vacation.
You may think I am the kind of person who is an extremely organized mom and plans vacations far in advance. You would be wrong about that. Larry and I started talking about Christmas vacation yesterday. As in, November 14. Not surprisingly, many of the hotels we are interested in are already booked. Thanks to all you organized moms who booked YOUR vacations way in advance! However, since this is our only opportunity to travel together until July, we are determined to find a vacation that works for our family.
So, who has a great idea for us? Some that’s affordable, fun, and most importantly, not already sold out?
What about you? Do you go on vacations with your family? What’s your favorite type of family vacation? Please share–I need ideas!

Check out my rental — I will find you something for your family. Mention that I wrote you on MomAgenda and I will give you the best rate I can — I know how hard it is. High schools and colleges don’t have the same weeks off for spring break which makes it hard for us too so I totally understand
Smuggler’s Notch, Vermont!! We went there this summer and had an absolute blast. There are day camps for the kids that are AMAZING (even a camp for special needs kids, which we needed and *so* appreciated), so you and your husband can get some alone-time. Plenty of really fun things to do as a family and as a couple. I have NEVER been so relaxed on a vacation with the kids. We will absolutely be going back. They have a website that you can check out – just Google “smuggler’s notch”. They also have a FaceBook.
