Better Homes & Gardens: A Recap

A few months ago I blogged about my experience doing a photo shoot and interview with Better Homes & Gardens magazine. It was one of the most fun “work” days of my life so far, because I got to play dress up, get my hair & makeup done, and pretend to be a supermodel for an entire day…. not a bad way to make a living!

The magazine article is finally in print! It appears in the March issue of BH&G if you want to see/read it. Here is a little preview….

Notice that in the above photo they refer to me as a “Task Master.” Trust me I think my husband is in agreement on that particular headline.

Anyway I loved the hot pink shirt I wore in the above photo, it is such a momAgenda color! I think my face looks weird in this one — to be honest, when my kids saw this pic they asked who it was — but I really like how they did my hair. Believe me when I tell you that the hair/makeup person was standing 3 feet away from me with a comb and a bottle of hairspray, and she touched up my hair literally between every shot! My hair was literally shellacked by the time I left the studio.

Here is another shot from the magazine….

I love the shirt dress, it has such a fun, funky pattern. They also gave me an awesome, huge hot pink watch to wear. I am not one for large colorful accessories so this was a departure for me, but I really liked it.

One of the funny things about doing a photo shoot is that they tell you to get into weird poses that you would never get in in real life. For example, in my life I would never stand by my desk with a smile plastered on my face and one foot in the air, as I am doing in this photo. But I guess this is what works for them in the magazine biz….

But my favorite thing about this outfit is, clearly, the shoes….

These shoes are so sexy, I wanted to take them home with me! Sadly, that was not to be.

If you want to pick up the magazine and read the article, please do and let me know what you think!
