Making Busy Bearable

The following is a guest post from momAgenda COMM blogger Jodi Grundig.

Once upon a time when I had a job outside of the home, I thought I was busy.

I was wrong.

Now, with two kids in elementary school (with numerous activities, playdates, sporting events, and birthdays every single week) I now know what busy is!

It’s hard enough keeping track of their schedules without even worrying about my own. In addition, the paperwork associated with all of this is really unbelievable. I rely on many products to keep my family organized, including several from momAgenda.

My favorite is my beloved shimmering berry pink Personal Portfolio. It’s a three-ring binder, so I can include any essential paperwork, and the leather is just so pretty. I love carrying it, and it is so easy to use. There’s a spot for each of my kids’ activities each day – so keeping track of our daily obligations is a breeze.

I also seem to be drowning in paperwork – important papers that need to be at our fingertips. After my son started kindergarten, our fridge filled up quickly, so I got the Kitchen Folio to store everything we need. Between the monthly school schedules, soccer schedules, little pieces of paper with contact information, and take-out menus, we just need to pull out this portfolio and everything is there.

For all of those school memories that we want to preserve (although it’s a cliché, time really does go by fast), I have two of the School Years Books. There’s a section for pictures, artwork, and other memories from each school year. It’s perfect for a mom like me who will never really get into scrapbooking – I can still preserve memories without the work!

Without spending time trying to clear through the clutter and organize schedules and paperwork, I have more time for the important stuff – like enjoying the small moments of spending time with my kids.

  1. Currently using 2 of the MomAgenda products. As a full time working mom I find the mini daily MomAgenda to be a life saver. I use it to keep track of my family’s schedule. It provides you with a monthly overview where I am able to record activities and plan in advance. Then evey Sunday I update the daily with the weeks activities for myself, my husband and our 7 1/2 yr old son. There is also room to add what’s for dinner. We can then sit down to discuss who covers which activities. We will also include any scheduling requests out of the norm for our nanny. Having an overview of the week definately helps with meal planning and then in turn grocery shopping. This planner is always in my pocketbook.

As a Project Leader for software development and having multiple projects to manage I find the myAgenda to be a valuable tool. Having used many other planners in the past this is by far the best. The monthly overview can be used to keep track of milestones and vacation schedules. I love the weekly view to keep track of ToDo lists, and daily notes. At times I’ve used the rows at the bottom to keep track of individual projects, assigning each projects it’s own row.

Definitely add the pockets for keeping necessay papers organized.
