MomAgenda Day Planners Profiled on MomInventors
MomInventors, a website that profiles marketing mothers, called momAgenda day planner for moms "a perfect example of how a personal challenge was turned into a marketable product for the benefit of other moms."
Which is exactly how momAgenda creator Nina Restieri intended it to be. In an interview transcripted on the MomInventors website, Restieri discusses how her day planner for moms went from mere brainchild to best-selling celebrity day planner.
Like most of the mothers profiled on MomInventors, Restieri's inspiration came from her daily life. As a stay-at-home mother with four kids under age ten, Restieri had difficulty keeping her kids' schedules straight. Then it came to her: "Brides have a wedding planner to plan one day of their lives, yet moms don't have their own day planner and they need one every day!" Restieri reasoned.
Thus, inspiration for her momAgenda day planner for moms was born, but as with any birth, there was much preparation beforehand. Restieri spent six months surveying hundreds of mothers, trying to figure out if a day planner for moms was a genuine need or just a pipe dream. The results were persuasive, Restieri reports. "Moms really wanted their own day planner," Restieri said, "They wanted it to be stylish and fun, and they wanted it to fit specifically their lives."
The support was there; now Restieri had to get serious about selling her product. Dipping into her kids' college funds and personal savings, Restieri took bold steps, hiring a manufacturer and a publicist who would eventually get her day planner for moms featured on The Today Show and in the hands of A-listers like Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon.
Now expanding her product line to include desk pads, a family calendar, and more, Restieri looks forward to the future of her business while crediting her family for her success. "Having that love and support gives me incredible strength," Restieri says.
